Rev. Dr. Albert Bailey, Jr. is the 11th Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Rev. Dr. Albert Bailey, Jr. was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. is a product of Detroit Public Schools, and a proud graduate of Wilberforce University. Rev. Dr. Albert Bailey, Jr. understands the importance of faith, family and community. Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. was licensed to preach and ordained at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. received his Master of Divinity degree and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Payne Theological Seminary in Ohio. Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. received his degree in Prophetic Preaching and Practice and titled his project “From Monument Back into Movement: Reengaging the Black Church with It’s Community.” Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. is the former Youth & Young Adult Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist in Woodlawn, Ohio.
For the past 17 years, Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. has worked in the educational field as a teacher, contractor, intervention specialist and community advocate. Rev. Dr. Albert Bailey, Jr. has a wealth of experience in community development, fundraising and activism through working with agencies that deal with individuals experiencing homelessness and other groups looking to invest in urban communities. Also, Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. serves as the Director of Alumni Affairs at Wilberforce University.
Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. is a member of various community, religious and civil rights organizations including:
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.; Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons (Pride of the Valley #95) and King Solomon Consistory #20; Association for the Study of African American Life and History; NAACP; Urban League; and the Young Preachers Association.
Additionally, Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. holds affiliations with the National Baptist Convention and the Progressive National Baptist Convention.
Apart from nurturing and helping the people spiritually, academically and socially, Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. enjoys going to the movies, reading a good book, listening to jazz music, watching wrestling, and playing golf and basketball. Rev. Dr. Bailey, Jr. and his amazing wife, Erica, are the proud parents of four children; twins Albert Bailey III & Aliyah Bailey, Amiyah Bailey and Alecia Bailey.
